A Legend… Kenneth J. Temple (a.k.a. Kenny T, KT, Buddha) was so great in and out of the pool. He had such a positive influence in the lives he touched and lived life with a fun-loving attitude. He passed in March 2019 at the young age of 43.
Kenny grew up in Newark, CA and attended Newark Memorial High School where he set swimming records and dominated the Mission Valley Athletic League. He continued his swimming career at the University of Wyoming. Spanning from his adolescent years to post-college, he was a member of the Palo Alto Swim Club and represented the club & the University of Wyoming at the 2000 Olympic Trials.
Kenny was also a loved coach for the Laramie Swim Club and Laramie High School. He worked at the UW Lab School as a Special Education Paraprofessional, helping kids with special needs. His knowledge, patience, humor and genuine interest in the kids made him such an amazing coach and teacher. He had such a special gift to instill confidence in the kids he coached and taught.
We are so lucky to have had him in our lives and be a part of his.
His legacy lives on with all of us. We all shared in so many fun and great unforgettable memories with him… and now we honor Kenny with this memorial scholarship.
